So I think that Saturdays will be black-and-white days, and Sundays I won’t post anything, but will try to sketch out the week to come. We’ll see how that goes… Anyways, for today just a plain Regency gown for people to color. Maybe for me to color at some point, too, but we won’t get ambitious just yet.

RLC, who runs the awesome paper doll blog Paper Thin Personas, drew this Regency Teddy Bear set to prove that she could do cute. As for me, since I started paperdolling again I just can’t put down the Prismacolors, and I’ve been thinking it would be fun to color this one for some time. (I’ve also had my eye on the Lady of the Manor set…)

I realize you may be sick of looking at this dress, but I’m still getting back into the paperdolling habit and I needed something easy for today… Have patience with me. (I say that rather needlessly, because if you’re still reading after half a year’s absence that’s one virtue you’re certainly not lacking.)

I draw pretty much everything using Prismacolor pencils, and one thing I’ve intended to do for, well, longer than I might care to admit, is a basic tutorial on how I use them. Now that I’m feeling guilty about having neglected my page for half a year, I’m finally, finally going to show you how I shade my dresses! Let’s get a little music going, that’s crucial. If I get really into drawing I like something I can sing to while I work, but I’m interrupting my work to scan and write the tutorial, so today it’ll be Bound Together, a remix of music from the SNES game Earthbound. (If you want the full following along experience, here’s my favorite track: SnowBound.)
