So way back in May, Nikki won a contest for guessing that my great-grandfather was born in Alaska. She wrote:
I’d like the bat costume (https://lianaspaperdolls.com/2010/10/09/halloween-10-day-7-black-and-white-cute-bat-costume/) colored in dark grey (almost black) and shades of purple. Where the colors go and if there is a pattern is totally up to you. I just really want to see that outfit colored and purple is one of my favorite colors.
… And then I completely forgot about it. Completely. I am so sorry, Nikki, it was truly thoughtless of me and I apologize for making you wait so long. If it’s any consolation I went all out in the coloring. I think it turned out to look really cool, and I really hope you think so too. Briana, thank you for reminding me, I had forgotten all about it.
I’ll do another contest at some point in time, and this time I won’t make anyone wait half a year!
That is super cute! I would totally go as bat in that costume. =)
Awesome. The coloring looks great, you outdid yourself! What I would love to see sometime is the Poison Green Mermaid Gown in whites, as a wedding dress. Mermaid wedding dresses are so pretty! :D
Love it! super cute!
I hope Nikki loves it as much as I do, because this costume’s adorable! I think I would’ve worn this back in high school at some point on Halloween. Definitely very cute!
So cute! I’m so glad I discovered this website! These outfits are the best! Wish I had thought of this for Halloween!
please keep paperdolling because I LOVE YOUR PAPERDOLLS
Very cute!!!
I am sure the contest winner must be pleased. Very, very nice. I love the embellishment on the sleeves, skirt, and stockings!
Lovely coloring job. I confess a fondness for this little bat costume.
I just realized that I have a big backlog of dresses I haven’t seen yet. :D Wheee!
Elegant as always. Do you think that you could do this dress (http://www.joechip.net/liana/2010/10/09/halloween-10-day-7-black-and-white-cute-bat-costume/)with the underskirt in rainbow colors and the top vest thingy in white and having gold as the accent color…….
So, I have to comment that I think it is nearly spooky in and of itself that so many paperdollers are connected to alaska in some way. Your grandfather was from there, paperthinpersonas grew up there, and I (paperdollgarden.com) live in alaska right now. Does that strike you as odd?
Thanks everyone! I hope Nikki likes it too, she hasn’t posted so far and her e-mail address didn’t work :/
Emma, I like to keep suggestions for coloring black-and-white outfits to when I have contests, sorry!
Rebekah, that is kind of an interesting coincidence — I wonder about the other paper doll bloggers? Maybe someday we’ll all trek up there for the first Paper Doll Blog conference :)
I should not count myself as a paper doll blogger, because I have posted like 20 things, but I don’t think I have a connection to Alaska…
The bat costume is adorable! I love the colors.
I have never been to Alsaska, I live in Connecticut, and my parents are thinking of buying a weekend home in Rhodde Island… But the whole Alaska thing is stange!
My mom is from Alaska! Thats odd.
I love the bat costume! Great use of colours!
