Ivory Lace Dress

A sleeveless ivory dress with a lace peplum and a ruffle around the knees. It's covered in ivory lace with a butterfly pattern.Click for larger version (PNG); click for PDF version. Click here for the list of dolls.

Note to self: don’t leave planning until 8:30 PM. To try to ease the pain of using this dress once more, I shortened the skirt a bit. I wanted to try making it look like white lace over an ivory background, and I don’t think I quite succeeded, but I’m glad I had a chance to practice. It’s new territory for me, after all.

  1. I think it came out great! The lace trim on the edges really helps to make it a convincing lace overlay. And peplums like that are very popular right now :)

  2. I think it looks beautiful, but I agree that the lace doesn’t quite work… it seems more like a pattern than an overlay. Perhaps because there’s no way to see that it’s a separate layer. Maybe if the edges of the dress were less smooth and there was some sort of tiny hint of shadow behind the lace… still, a lot more beautiful than my attempts (generally disastrous) at computer coloring.

  3. I’m glad you’re back. I very randomly decided to check and see if there was anything new, and I was very pleasantly surprised.

  4. I loved coming back to your site to see a handful of beautiful paper doll dresses the new techniques your using are so cool! I love this little lace dress !
