Medieval Gown colored in Yellow and Red

The last time I got my mitts on this poor dress, I really made a hash of it, so, time to try again. I like it better when someone tells me what colors to use, though — it feels like a surprise I can enjoy, too. Sadly, I can’t ask Brian, or you would be seeing a muted turquoise/salmon pink medieval ensemble.

I’m curious about you all, and I don’t believe I’ve done this poll before. Mom and I call my readers “the paperdoll girls,” and I wonder if it’s about right. (Certainly I do have a couple of male readers — a minority to be sure, but I do!)

  1. Wow, it’s so brighter than the other one! I definitely like this one for my illuminated moods, and I would wear the darker one for when I am moody.

    Haha

I am returning to my blog on the 3rd of Sept. Watch for me!!!!!!

  2. In my imagination, these two dresses belong to twin sisters. One is eternally cheerful and optimistic, the other is moody and mysterious.

  3. Yay! You’re back! I love this dress too :)
I’ve actually started putting up some paperdolls on my webcomic site, but I don’t think they’ll ever be as good as yours.

  4. Oh no Liana! You’re making me feel like I’m too old to love paper dolls! Which totally stinks cos I love this dress. It’s so… sunny. Which is fantastic because we’re having thunderstorms today!

  5. I would love to see you do some designs for Katniss from The Hunger Games trilogy (amazing books, by the way)!

  6. But I think a muted-turquoise and salmon-pink dress would be gorgeous!! Brian may have better fashion sense than you realize… :D (that or mine is a little off too; hrmmm…) I’m so glad you’re back and sharing pretty dresses with us again (and that the big move went well, of course!)! I loved the single-colour focused ones you did the last couple days :D

  7. My computer won’t let me vote, but I am in high school and I love your blog! I showed my mom and younger sister and they thought, like me, that the dresses are absolutely gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your talent!

  8. AAAHH!!! Hunger Games! Sorry, I still haven’t conquered my obsession…

I love this dress, though. The colors look more like the dress.

  9. whoaaa! i’m totally jealous of your artwork skills, i don’t think i have the patience
it’s been a while since i’ve been on, but i really like all the new dresses you’ve come out with

i like the japanese clothes you’ve come out with, both me and my friends are really into japanese culture :D

  10. Reminds me of Hufflepuff… I’m on a Harry Potter kick, sorry. Very cheerful and uplifting, even though I wear dark or muted colors all the time. Cute!

  11. I can definitely be both too, Faseeha! Maybe the two dresses rather represent the different aspects of someone’s persona.

  12. I just wanted to say that I’m in one of the older categories (I’m 39) on your now-closed poll. I visit your site once every few months when I have a few spare moments, but I read everything from whatever’s current to whatever’s there the last time I looked. I adore your art, and have for quite a long time. Thank you for posting it, and I didn’t want you to miss an older person in your count of the ‘paperdoll girls.’ ;-)
